Our Guiding Approach to Care

Improving outcomes for children, young people, individuals & families affected by addiction

Brook Recovery Hub was set up as an Expansion of DYP Services to Bonnybrook and surrounding areas to improve outcomes for children, young people, individuals & families affected by addiction.

It is situated above Bonnybrook Clinic on the Glin Road in Coolock on the north side of Dublin. It is governed by Donnycarney Youth Project CLG.

Our aim is to offer response pathways in order to bridge existing gaps in service provision and meet the needs that have been identified within the Bonnybrook community and surrounding areas. Brook Recovery Hub operates within the framework outlined in the National Drugs Strategy (Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery 2017-2025) and shares the goal of creating a “healthier and safer Ireland, where public health and safety is protected and the harms caused to individuals, families and communities by substance misuse are reduced and every person affected by substance use is empowered to improve their health and wellbeing and quality of life” (NDS, 2017-2025).

Our Guiding Approach to Care

Brook Recovery Hub works from a holistic health-led approach

Brook Recovery Hub works from a holistic health-led approach when working with service users. We look at the whole persons’ needs and compile care plans in line with these needs. Brook recovery Hub is currently responding to individuals presenting with addiction issues (including Poly-drug use, Cocaine, Alcohol, Cannabis, Illicit Tablet use and Gambling) and their family members in the Dublin North East Drug and Alcohol Task Force (DNEDATF) area.

Trauma-informed practices underpin the work at Brook recovery Hub. Service users are provided with a safe environment that recognises the link between trauma with addiction and understands the role that trauma may play in an individual’s life. The service provided by the professional staff team, offers an eclectic mix of supports, tailored to suit the individual needs of those attending the service. Brook recovery Hub works in collaboration with service users, empowering them to be proactive in their own lives and make positive changes.
